Sailing trip: Sweden, Finland, Estonia

Client: Oceanspirit – Special Natural Sailing Tours

At the start of last year, I was invited by OceanSpirit to join them on a two-week sailing trip from Sweden to Finland and onwards to Estonia, camera in hand. As someone who's not familiar with life on the water, it was definitely going to be a challenge. Nevertheless, come early August, I embarked on this exciting journey with a small group of kindred spirits, including Frank, the owner of OceanSpirit and my client, aboard a 14-meter sailing yacht.

Over the course of the following two weeks, we are set to encounter marine creatures in their natural habitats, visit historic cities, and witness picturesque sunrises and sunsets against breathtaking backdrops. By the end of it all, we will have amassed a collection of memories that will stay with us for the rest of our days. This sailing trip proves to be one of the most impressive expeditions that Scandinavia and the Baltics have to offer.

On our voyage, we not only venture to explore the archipelagos of Sweden and Finland from the water but also undertake the challenging approximately 15-hour crossing to reach Baltic Estonia. It's the longest distance I've ever traveled on a sailing boat.
